How Do You Conquer a Shopping Addiction?

Question by I-wunder: How do you conquer a shopping addiction?
My sister is addicted to shopping. Even she knows she is overspending, but she can’t seem to control the urge to own whatever she likes. I have no idea how to help her. The logic of ruining her credit doesn’t seem to have any effect. Can you offer any words of wisdom?
